Holy slacker batman!

I really have slacked off lately. I need to get on top of things. Life has been busy. Kids are enjoying school. I'm enjoying the peace school brings. Life is much better with a routine. Although, ask me again at the end of the school year when I will be singing a different tune. My courses are in full swing. Hockey season is just getting underway. Baseball is just about over. Things are going good. :)

Mad? Or not?

Even though she looks it, she isn't mad in this shot. Just being goofy. :)

It's hard to believe she will be 11 in a few short weeks. It's so cliche, but it goes by so very quickly. She's a good kid. :) And quite funny. And very sarcastic, she gets that from her dad.

A Day of Firsts

Today was a beautiful summer day.

Today was also a day of many firsts for Cameron. All summer long we've been trying to get him comfortable in the water. My inlaws have an inground pool, so we spend a lot of time there in the summer. When we went to Great Wolf Lodge in July, he learned to deal with water in his face without too much fuss. But putting his face under water was a huge obstacle. All summer long we've encouraged him to go underwater. Every time- his answer has been "When I'm 16" or "When I'm 19" :) Well, today was the day!! He and Kelsey spent the weekend at their grandparents and basically swam all weekend long. Cameron took off his water wings and practiced swimming in the shallow end. He was very excited to share this with his dad and I when we got there to pick them up. But he went a step further after dinner- he started jumping off the side of the pool into the water. He kept doing it over and over and over again! He continued doing that in the shallow end for a good 30 minutes or so. Then, he got even more brave and started doing it in the deep end! He was so proud of himself. :) And as if that wasn't enough, he started swimming underwater without water wings. So many big steps for a little boy today.
